Khao Takiab

Khao Takiab Temple

Khao Takiab is just a few kilometers south of Huahin town. If you look to the south while standing on Hua Hin beach, you will notice Khao Takiab as it is a sizable hill.

When we visit Huahin for a family holiday, we prefer to stay in a Takiab beach hotel which is just south of Khao Takiab. The beach to the south of Khao Takiab is the best beach in the vicinity of Huahin. However, if you choose to stay in a Huahin city hotel, a visit to Khao Takiab is easy to arrange.

The trip to Khao Takiab should not be a top priority during your visit to Hua Hin. The temple at the top of the hill has a long set of stairs to climb and the view from the top is quite impressive. But if you have spent time in other parts of Thailand, I am sure you have visited other temple areas. There are several souvenior shops at the base of the stairs which lead up to the temple. An hour or two will be plenty of time for most people to tour the temple and browse the shops. Khao Takiab Village

Hua Hin is rapidly expanding. Khao Takiab is known as a small fishing village surrounded by some beautiful beaches. The village area has not changed much in recent years. Fisherman still bring their catch in from the sea and sell it to local buyers. The inlet is usually full of small fishing boats which look like they have seen better days, but they still remain afloat to go out each day.

There is an excellent seafood restaurant in Khao Takiab. The prices are very reasonable and the food is well prepared. It is a bit far from the city center and most seafood lovers go to eat on the pier in Hua Hin. But if you want to save some money, head to the Boat Restaurant in Khao Takiab.

You are sure to hear more about Khao Takiab in coming years. Many new hotels and condominiums are being built in this rapidly developing suburb of Hua Hin town.
