Horse Riding for Hua Hin Kids
Hua Hin is one of the few beach areas in Thailand that have horse rides on the beach. The horses are a popular attraction for many Hua Hin kids. It is not just the locals who enjoy a horse ride on the beach. Many tourists to Hua Hin take a break from normal activities on the beach and go for a ride.
The horses are well cared for by their owners. A half hour ride costs about 300 baht. If it is a slow day for the horses, you may be able to bargain for a better price. Very small children may be accompanied by an adult. Typically, the man in charge of the horse will walk alongside of the horse. He is able to guide the horse when the rider is a small child. Experienced riders are allowed to have the horse trot or gallop.
The horses work on most of the Hua Hin beaches. Our kids have taken rides on the beach south of Khao Takiab. Horse riding is also very popular on the main Hua Hin beach near the Sofitel resort.
Make sure you do not leave young children unattended with the horse. Although they are gentle and well trained, each rider is a stranger to the animal. There is always a risk that your horse could become uncontrollable.
