Hua Hin Attractions

The best Hua Hin attractions are the beaches. If not for the beautiful beaches, Huahin would not be the resort town that it is today. Of course, maybe not all of your family members are addicted to sunbathing and playing in the sand. There are other Hua Hin attractions besides the surf.

Hua Hin has more world class golf courses than any other place in Thailand. The large number of courses means that Huahin golfing is relatively inexpensive. Most of the golf resorts have facilities for swimming and other sports as well. The whole family can spend the day even if some family members do not enjoy golfing.

If golfing is not your passion, but you and the family need a day away from the beach, spend a morning at Hin Lek Fai. Located just outside of town, Hin Lek Fai is a great place to get a birds eye view of Huahin town. Its an intense walk or jog to the top, but fortunately there is a road for driving to the park at the top as well.

We recently made a visit to a Hua Hin attraction which is more popular with Thai people than with tourists. The Mrigadayavan Teakwood Palace is located about 14 kilometers north of Hua Hin. This palace was built by King Rama VI as a summer residence. After his death, the palace was not well maintained. It is now restored into its original condition is perhaps the largest golden teakwood palace in the world.

The racers in your crew will enjoy a few hours on the go-karts in Huahin. A couple of laps around the track should help relieve the boredom caused by too much sunbathing.

Some Hua Hin attractions are rather far from the town center. Palau waterfall is almost an hour's drive to the west. Located in a national park, the falls flows through one of Thailand's well preserved tropical rainforests. A visit to Palau waterfall is day trip that should be part of your Hua Hin itinerary.

Hua Hin attractions are plentiful, but the beach is still the main reason my family and I travel to Hua Hin as often as we can fit it into our schedule.
